A few things worth knowing when you look through these.

The gray coating on the duct walls is household dust, fabric fibres and skin cells, built up over years. It is normal in any system that has not been cleaned.

Dark rings around registers usually mean air has been pushing material out of that duct for a long time.

Lint in a dryer line is not just a performance problem. It is the leading contributing factor in home clothes dryer fires, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

Fine white or gray powder usually points to construction or drywall dust, which is common after a remodel.
